- Superhuman Strength: Knuckles is incredibly strong for his size and age, able to shatter stone, punch holes through solid steel, and lift many times his own size and weight over his head. Though not formally tested, it's assumed that Knuckles is able to lift and press 100 metric tons. He can also punch hard and fast enough to split the hydrogen in the air around his fists, essentially letting him light his punches on fire temporarily. His strength is immense enough to disrupt the balance of those standing nearby him when he punches the ground. His physical endurance is likewise impressive, able to withstand a point-blank bomb explosion.
- Hand claws: Like all echidnas, Knuckles has large, sharp claws protruding from the backs of his hands, near the knuckles. These claws aid in climbing and digging, and make Knuckles an even more dangerous opponent in hand-to-hand combat.
- Emerald attunement: Knuckles can sense various phenomena related to the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald, including the ability to feel their location and his own proximity to them; find traces of Chaos energy in his environment' and utilize Chaos energy to empower himself, enhancing his strength and speed.
- Mystical connection: The most unexplained of Knuckles' powers is his ability to utilize mystical forces, such as summoning lighting or utilizing geokinetic powers to protect and heal himself.
- Gliding: By flaring his dreadlock-like quills, Knuckles can slow and direct his own descent by gliding on air currents.
ABILITIES:
- Hand-to-hand combat: Despite his fighting speed being slow, Knuckles is a very powerful fighter, proficient in a number of martial styles. His fighting focuses primarily on powerful punches, sometimes mixed in with his burrowing abilities.
- Tracking: Knuckles is known as one of the best treasure hunters in the world, and can find hidden items and passages others would simply pass over. Part of this may be owed to his mystical connections.
- Climbing: Knuckles is an excellent free-climber, due to a combination of skill, strength, and his claws.
- Burrowing: Knuckles has an impressive sense of direction underground, and can tunnel through even solid rock with impressive speed.
- Swimming: Unlike Sonic, Knuckles is a talented swimmer, able to dive to impressive depths even without a breathing apparatus.
